The following resources are ranked BEST to WORST. As in, number 1 is considered the best of its category and number 2 is considered the worst. Resources have been split into 2 categories: information review and question-only resources.
Information Resources
Price: $40 on my web site with 200+ questions
Hey, otherwise, why would I bother, right? It's a great information review because it focuses on only the core information, it's written in outline format, and it includes comprehension questions at the end to make sure you understood the info. Not only that, but it's updated at least yearly. I truly believe it is the best.
2. Saunders Comprehensive Review for NCLEX
Price: $47 with 5,100 questions... but they're not good questions.
Too much writing and full sentences to read. Some basic information, but not all the specific info you need and too much of it all together to study.
3. Kaplan NCLEX-RN Premier Review
Price: $30 with 220 questions
Just horrendous. Written in full sentences with too much general information and only some specific stuff, then dives way too deep into specific stuff. But the biggest crime is that they try to talk NCLEX strategy with their decision tree theory, never calling the doctor (WRONG WRONG WRONG!!), etc. Those "strategies" will lead you to the wrong answer every time and give false confidence. Only 220 questions included Try to avoid this resource.
Question Resources
1. UWorld.com Question Bank
Price: $79/month for 1900 questions
Truly a fantastic question resource. Able to be accessed on mobile. Good ways to sort through questions to practice the categories in which you need help. Questions are of the proper difficulty and are written very NCLEX-like.
2. NCLEX RN Mastery
Price: $30 FOREVER for 1800+ questions
This is the best question bank for practice on the go that I can think of. Comes in app form for both Apple and Android. Has thousands of questions and the ability to tag them as "know", "sort of know", and "don't know", which is very helpful when it comes to repeating questions you've had difficulty with.
3. Lippincott Q&A Review
Price: $47 for 6,000+ questions
This is one of the largest resources of many excellent questions that you'll find. My first issue with it is that this book is not meant for potable studying- it is giant, thick, and HEAVY. My second issue is that these questions have a difficulty level that actually exceeds NCLEX. Seriously- they're harder than the real NCLEX. That said, if you study from this beast, NCLEX will seem like a piece of cake.
